CARSON CITY – Dennis Neilander helps another client succeed with difficult gaming regulatory issues.

When the Sparks Nugget was recently fined by the United States Office of the Treasury for Anti-Money Laundering violations, the prospective purchasers of the casino, Marnell Gaming, turned to Dennis Neilander, one of the firm’s gaming experts, to assist in establishing a robust gaming regulatory compliance program and committee. Neilander is the Leader of the firm’s Gaming Practice Group. In anticipation of the licensing hearing before the Nevada Gaming Commission, he drafted a compliance plan following best industry practices and agreed to chair the newly formed Compliance Committee.

During the Gaming Commission hearing, the Commissioners commended Marnell Gaming for their proactive compliance efforts. As the Las Vegas Review Journal reported on April 21, 2016: “The Commission was impressed that Marnell had appointed Dennis Neilander to head the company’s regulatory compliance committee. Neilander was the Chairman of the Gaming Control Board.”  The Commission unanimously approved the issuance of a gaming license for Marnell Gaming
