Kaempfer Crowell’s Aviation Department has over 20 years experience in aviation law and emerging technologies, and in the last several years in the emerging field of autonomous vehicles and unmanned aircraft, commonly referred to as drones. Two of the firm partners are pilots with extensive flight experience. The firm has represented numerous airports, airport users, aviation and aerospace component manufacturers, commercial aviation ventures, development and design firms, and the state’s premier test facilities. The firm advises clients on issues arising from the tension between private airspace ownership/privacy and the emerging technology. The firm has extensive government law experience both representing government entities and private enterprise.

Railroad

The firm has advised on a range for railroad-related issues, including development hearings before the Nevada Public Utilities Commission regarding the creation and removal of grade crossings; land rights connected with historical land grants to railroads; operations and federal employee benefits for short-line railroads; development of transloading facilities for railroad shipping; and governmental funding for railroad-related projects.
