Practice Highlights:
August B. Hotchkin was born and raised in Reno, Nevada and has lived in the area for more than 27 years. Mr. Hotchkin practices throughout Northern Nevada and Northern California primarily in the areas of general and commercial litigation. He represents individuals, corporate entities, partnerships, companies and other businesses in a variety of litigation matters. As an experienced litigator, Mr. Hotchkin handles these matters throughout all phases, including but not limited to, pre-litigation, discovery, pre-trial, mediations, settlement conferences, and trial. He has obtained favorable results for his clients at all of these stages.
Mr. Hotchkin earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from University of California Santa Cruz and went on to obtain his Juris Doctorate from Golden Gate University School of Law in the heart of San Francisco. While in law school, Mr. Hotchkin participated in the competitive moot court and trial advocacy programs. He also externed for the Honorable Gail Dekreon at the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco.
Prior to joining Kaempfer Crowell, Mr. Hotchkin was a trial attorney and partner at a well-regarded and highly reputable multi-state civil defense firm where he vigorously represented the interests of insureds in a variety of legal matters, including but not limited to, personal injury, wrongful death, toxic torts, construction defect, multi-jurisdiction litigation, products liability, contract disputes, real estate disputes and subrogation matters.
Community:
Mr. Hotchkin is a member of the Washoe County Bar Association. He also works with Washoe County Legal Services and Nevada Legal Services where he has provided many hours of pro bono legal services especially for children in the Child Advocacy Program.
