RENO, June 15, 2026 —The State Bar of Nevada Board of Governors and the Nevada Supreme Court Access to Justice Commission have recognized attorney Brett Pilling for his outstanding volunteer service through the Lawyers in the Library program. This impactful initiative brings free legal consultations directly into public libraries and court buildings across Nevada, connecting community members with experienced volunteer attorneys who provide trusted legal guidance at no cost.
Through these clinics, residents are able to receive timely, high-quality legal support in an accessible setting, often at moments when it is needed most. Brett’s contributions help expand the reach of this program, ensuring more Nevadans can benefit from legal assistance and clear direction when navigating important legal matters.
“Volunteering is an opportunity to give back to the community. A lot of the people that I speak with through pro bono opportunities cannot afford an attorney or have no idea where to look when picking an attorney. It is a great feeling when I am able to provide these individuals guidance on which path is best and be able to see a significant weight lifted from their shoulders. Even though most pro bono meetings are short, I can tell this little amount of time to speak to a licensed attorney means the world to the individuals. Not only are the very appreciative of the help, but a lot of these individuals also have unique legal issues that require an attorney’s attention, some of which are fairly complex. It is a great feeling to know these individuals are leaving with clarity on their issues and feeling better about going forward.”
At Kaempfer Crowell, pro bono service is an important part of our commitment to the communities we’re part of. Visit www.nvbar.org/probono to learn more about this program.
