LAS VEGAS – Chris Kaempfer, a partner with Kaempfer Crowell, recently worked to secure approval from the Clark County Board of County Commission for a high-speed passenger train from Las Vegas to Southern California. Commissioners voted unanimously to approve findings by the Nevada Department of Business and Industry related to financing for the proposed $5 billion rail line. The trip to and from Las Vegas to Victorville by rail will take approximately 75 minutes, whereas driving now takes anywhere from three to four hours and with holiday traffic, appreciably more. The rail line is already planned to go to Rancho Cucamonga and from there to cities farther south and east. Mr. Kaempfer commented that, “While I have been very proud to represent quality projects over 40 years of land use practice here in Southern Nevada, no project is more iconic, impactful or important to the County, as a whole, than this one.”
