Kaempfer Crowell proudly announces a major land use victory. Attorneys Jennifer Lazovich and Chris Kaempfer successfully secured land use entitlements for the future home of the Athletics Major League Baseball team. The new ballpark will be built on the historic site of the former Tropicana Hotel, marking a transformative addition to the Las Vegas Strip.
In a public hearing held on April 2, 2025, the Clark County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved the land use application, clearing the way for a game-changing new chapter in Las Vegas sports and entertainment. The state-of-the-art, fully enclosed stadium will span nine acres and feature 30,000 fixed seats. The project will also feature an entry plaza and onsite parking garage. Its iconic design will showcase a roof with five overlapping layers, inspired by baseball pennants, and expansive clerestory windows providing stunning views of the Las Vegas Strip. The remaining land on the site will be reserved for a future integrated resort.
This approval marks a significant milestone in the transformation of the southern end of the Strip. The ballpark is expected to become a marquee attraction when it opens for the 2028 MLB season. Kaempfer Crowell extends its gratitude to all stakeholders involved and looks forward to the Athletics’ 2028 opening day in Las Vegas.
